Pond Timers
In order to conserve of both water and power, your garden pond will require a timer. Garden pond accessories like waterfalls and fountains should be turned off during the day when no one is home, or time your pond features to come on in intervals throughout the day. Pond lights and pond heaters should also be run on a timer in order to conserve water and power. Pond lights can be timed to switch on as the sun is setting, and to automatically shut off as daylight breaks. Extreme safety must be taken whenever electricity and water are being used in combination. Many new power control consoles are weather-resistant with really long power cords to keep electricity far from the water.
Most power consoles also have a roof above the outlets to prevent water and rain from getting inside. Garden ponds can also be run via battery. Power control centers usually cost about $145 - $175 online.
