Teak Garden Furniture

Teak is a sought-after wood used in the construction of garden furniture. Teak is an extremely strong yellowish-brown lumber that comes from the teak trees. Teak is used in the production of garden furniture, as well as in shipbuilding, because of its durability in the elements, its resistance to insects and its ability to resist warping. Teak garden furniture tends to be more expensive compared to other popular woods used to make patio furniture such as red cedar, mahogany and pine. Teak can endure years of exposure to the elements with minimal care (other then application of a water sealant). A simple teak patio chair costs about $180 online.
