Lawn Furniture

Add style to your outdoor living

When you’ve put a lot of effort into maintaining your yard or garden, you want to be able to show it off as much as possible. It’s great to be able to host parties and entertain guests in your beautiful garden or yard. But if you’re going to do that, you’ll need some outdoor lawn furniture.

There is a wide range of lawn furniture available. One of the most important considerations is the material used to create it. Since this furniture will spend a lot of time outdoors, it needs to be able to stand up to the ravages of the elements. You will want to find furniture that isn’t going to rust or wear from the rain, or fade from sun damage. In addition, you’ll want to find the perfect piece of lawn furniture that really accents the style of your garden.

Wooden Lawn Furniture

One common choice that many people opt for is wooden lawn furniture. There are many different types of wood that can be used to craft wooden furniture. One of the top choices for outdoor furniture is teak. Teak is a good option because it wears well – you can count on it lasting for a long time. Teak tends to be designed in a simple, elegant fashion that isn’t too flashy. Other options for wooden lawn furniture include cedar and pressure-treated wood. Neither of these options lasts as long as teak, but they are generally cheaper.

Wrought Iron Lawn Furniture

Metal lawn furniture tends to be very resistant to damage, but it comes with its own unique disadvantages as well, such as rust. Wrought iron lawn furniture, for example, is extremely sturdy – practically indestructible. All that is required to maintain this type of furniture is a simple waxing every six months or so. You can use standard car wax for this. Wrought iron law furniture also tends to be very heavy, making it somewhat less mobile than other options, and it can be quite expensive.

Aluminum Lawn Furniture

An alternative to wrought iron lawn furniture is aluminum lawn furniture. Aluminum is a durable and lightweight metal that is highly resistant to rust and fading. Similar to wrought iron, a simple waxing can help aluminum furniture maintain its luster for a long time. Since it weighs less, it’s also much easier to move around, which is especially helpful when the winter rolls around and it’s time to store them away.

Plastic Lawn Furniture

Another fairly common option for lawn furniture is plastic. Plastic is the cheapest type of outdoor furniture you’ll find, and while it is resistant to rain, it can be damaged by the sun and start to fade. In addition, mildew can be a major problem for plastic furniture. Still, it is versatile and mobile, and since it’s inexpensive, it’s a good choice when hosting several guests.
