Cedar Patio Furniture

Cedar is probably the most common wood used to make patio furniture. Western red cedar has become synonymous with cottagers with the resurgence of trendy patio designs such as the Adirondack and Muskoka chair. Cedar is a durable and aromatic wood that can come from any species of cedar tree. Cedar has an innate natural oil preservative that makes it highly resistant to warping, rotting and decay. Cedar patio furniture is striking to behold regardless of if it's been finished or not. Unfinished cedar tends to take on a beautiful silver-grey gleam with age. However, to protect your cedar patio furniture it's wise to coat it with water sealant and to oil the wood occasionally to prevent cracking.
