Lawn Fertilizer

Fertilizing your own lawn offers a plethora of benefits such as it's cheaper then hiring a landscaper; you control the application and scheduling; and it allows you to learn more about your lawn, while getting exercise and getting fresh air. Nitrogen is the key ingredient to any lawn fertilizer. The simplest, safest way to fertilize your lawn is to use a fertilizer with a low percentage of slow release nitrogen. The kind of nitrogen can be determined by looking it up the analysis list, table or chart, found on the back of the bag. For example, controlled or slow release nitrogen is the most-preferred because it's less likely to damage or burn your lawn because it includes urea, ureaform and IBDU. Fast-release nitrogen also includes urea as well as salt and ammonium-based products. These are very effective but they may burn your grass.
