Bulbs
A bulb is basically a living container with a flower, or two, enclosed in its center. Bulbs are constantly growing and developing and have sensitive flowers inside - so handling with care, proper storage and delicate planting are necessary. Planting of bulbs is typically done twice throughout the year - once in spring as soon as the frost is passed, and again in September and October before the frost penetrates the soil. Popular harbingers of springtime include tulips, daffodils, hyacinths and cannons; while hardy bulbs that flower in autumn include crocuses, calla lilies and sometimes Hyacinths.
