Weather Vanes

Weather vanes have become treasured antique collectables and are the subject of many books and museums. Weather vanes were originally erected on the roofs of barns to identify whether the barn produced dairy products or poultry. Today, weather vanes add a sense of nostalgia to your yard or garden. Weather vanes can be hung from a wall, erected on a shed roof or wedged right into the ground. Popular designs for weather vanes include farm animals, fairies and butterflies as well as many other novelty items. A full weather vane kit will come with the figure, the mounting rod and the directional rods as well as gazing globes - depending on the kit. When assembling a weather vane, you will want to ensure that the figure rotates freely in the wind and that the weather vane is resistant to most weather conditions.
