No garden is complete without a garden gnome. These whimsical symbols of fortune and goodwill stand as guardian over many gardens. Garden gnomes are typically about 12-centimeters tall and resemble mischievousness little people doing chores in the garden. Garden gnomes can be found pushing wheel barrels, holding steins of mead, feeding birds, and holding various garden tools such as shovels, rakes, axes, etc. Garden gnomes carry with them a sense of benevolence and the myth. According to German lore, garden gnomes are nature's good luck charms. If you purchase a garden gnome for your lawn or garden, just be aware that they often get stolen or vandalized. Garden gnomes can be purchased online starting at $20 for Polyresin (a type of inexpensive plastic) gnome and up to $400 for more hearty brass garden gnome.
