Bird bath misters are extremely attractive to small birds. Adding a mister to your bird bath is a sure way to attract all types of birds to your yard. Misters can be stand-alone or provide a built-in feature to an existing bird bath and foliage surrounding the bath. Many bird bath misters will have a self-timer which can be set up to control the time when water will spray, as well as to regulate the amount of water being used. Some forms of misters also come with automatic timers which will shut off at night, or be set to intervals at different times throughout the day for water conservation. Misters can also be purchased in combination with bird bath drippers. Drippers are known to attract larger birds, while misters are known to attract smaller birds.
