Grill covers will protect your barbecue from bad weather, extreme temperatures and hungry animals. Look for a heavy-duty grill cover made of a mix of vinyl and polyester with a PVC backing for water-resistance. Many barbecue retailers will include a grill cover with your barbecue purchase. If you require a grill cover the manufacturer can also supply the best fit, however one can be purchased separately in a universal size that will fit most standard grills. Universal grill covers typically shield only the top portion of your grill and not your gas tank or barbecue cart. Therefore it's wise to also purchase a gas tank cover to protect your propane tank and your cart from rust. Barbecue grill covers are sold online for $20-$80 in various lengths and sizes, many have drawstring, Velcro or zip closures.
